EVE Storage Battery Factory Expands Production Capacity
EVE expands its energy storage battery production capacity, The mass production products of Phase two of EVE’ s energy storage super factory are EVE’ s new-generation energy storage battery MB56, which are used in various scenarios such as electric power storage, outdoor energy storage, and marine energy storage.
On January 5, the piling project of Phase two of the lithium-ion super factory in Jingmen Hi-tech Zone was officially launched. This is another important production expansion deployment of EVE following the commissioning of phase one of EVE’ s Super Factory on December 10, 2024.
It is reported that the mass-produced products of Phase two plant are MB56, the new generation of energy storage batteries of EVE, which are applied in various scenarios such as electric power storage, outdoor energy storage and marine energy storage.
The news shows, EVE jingmen super energy storage plant has a total investment of 10.8 billion yuan, and a planning capacity of 60GWh. Phase one is built from August 2023, December 10, put into production in 2024. The ”60 factory” is also the world’s largest single carbon neutral battery factory.
After full production, EVE Jingmen factory’s power storage battery capacity will increase to 212GWh.
It is worth mentioning that on December 10, EVE unveiled a new generation of mass-produced energy storage battery products in Jingmen Super Factory – Mr. Big, with a capacity of 628Ah, which is also the industry’s first mass-produced 600Ah+ large battery cell.
The advantage of the large-capacity battery cell is that it can reduce the cost and integration difficulty of the energy storage system, while improving energy density and safety, and also reduce the use of parts at the PACK end and simplify the assembly process, thus further reducing costs.
At the same time, the thermal management and comprehensive efficiency of ultra-large-capacity batteries has become a thorny issue.
In order to solve this problem, EVE cooperated with Wuhan University, and created an electrochemical current collection model based on electrochemical principles. Inspired by the “low wind resistance” shape design in automotive design, EVE have continuously optimized the thickness of the collector, the position of the tabs, the shape and size of the tabs, and other collector designs to open up the electronic highway. This invention greatly reduces the internal resistance of the electric core, thus reducing the risk of heat generation.
Meanwhile, through the smart core technology, EVE adopts intelligent and high-precision source sensing technology to capture key signals of the entire life cycle of the core in real time, monitor gas, temperature and other information in real time, and based on a powerful database matching mechanism to effectively identify the parameters from different characteristic quantities, and carry out advanced processing and analysis of the signals. Once abnormalities are detected, timely warning and defense measures are taken. Significantly improve the safety and reliability of ultra-large capacity batteries.
EVE said, ”60 factory” has completed the large size battery in the production line and manufacturing challenges in all aspects of the problem, can meet the Mr. Big mass production, product defect rate reached PPB level, and can be one-click traceability of the entire life cycle of the battery cell.
Analysis shows that in the first three quarters of 2024, EVE’s global shipments of energy storage battery cores are sitting firmly in the head position of TOP2. With the mass production of Mr. Big and the commissioning of the second phase of the energy storage super factory, the process of global production capacity construction of EVE has been accelerated, fully guaranteeing the supply of production capacity to meet customer and market demand, and the head position will be further consolidated.
