China’s First Purely Electric Ship Launched with CATL Batteries
China’s first purely electric marine tourism passenger ship “Yujian 77” is equipped with new generation of marine power batteries from CATL, with zero-emission and low-noise comfort experience that refreshes the industry standard, and 45 nautical miles of ultra-long endurance and aerospace-grade safety technology, which injects green kinetic energy into the blue sea and blue sky, and opens up a new chapter of marine tourism.

On March 15, China’s first purely electric marine tourism passenger ship “Yujian 77” was successfully launched in Ningde City, Fujian Province, marking an important breakthrough in the field of electric ships in China, and opening up a new green chapter in the development of the marine tourism industry.
“With an overall length of 49 meters, a width of 14.5 meters and a depth of 4.15 meters, and a rated capacity of 358 passengers, the vessel adopts a purely battery-powered system with two 450-kilowatt propulsion motors, a maximum speed of 20 kilometers per hour and a range of 45 nautical miles.
Its power system has completely independent intellectual property rights, adopts coastal DC network frequency control system, equipped with a new generation of marine power battery system customized by CATL, adopting CTP group structure and aerospace-grade heat insulation materials, with energy density of over 140Wh/kg, and with functions of marine recreation and entertainment, excursion and sightseeing, conference and catering, which is expected to be put into actual operation in the middle of the year.
Compared with traditional oil-fired vessels, “Yujian 77” has significant advantages. It realizes zero emission and low noise, providing tourists with a more comfortable and environmentally friendly travel experience, which perfectly fits the demand for comfort and style in the tourism scene. At the same time, the ship’s battery system has sufficient energy density, and can also intelligently distribute energy and provide stable output under complex sea conditions, providing a solid technical guarantee for the safe and reliable operation of purely electric cruise ships.

The successful launching of “Yujian 77” is of great significance to the development of China’s marine tourism industry. It provides tourists with more environmentally friendly and comfortable travel options, and helps to improve the quality and competitiveness of China’s maritime tourism. At the same time, it also accumulates valuable experience for the application of electric ships in a wider range of fields, and promotes the development of China’s shipbuilding industry in the direction of green and intelligent. With the continuous progress of technology and the gradual recognition of the market, it is believed that more electric ships will be put into operation in the future, injecting new vitality into the development of China’s marine economy.
